Dan and I just got back from Delaware visiting our family there. We had an absolute blast. I cooked Thanksgiving dinner with my sister in law and we had so much fun. It was so nice to spend time with my mother in law as she is going through chemo. We prayed that she would be feeling well and wanting to eat. The Lord answered our prayers and she was feeling great and was hungry for the food we made. We had so much fun just spending time with them. Time is precious- especially with them- because we only get to see each other a few times a year.
On the way home, we saw a bumper sticker that said "The best things in life aren't things". A lot of people say that "The best things in life are free"... but I like the one that we saw today better. The best things in life aren't things and are priceless. We experienced one of the best things in life this week- quality time with family.
God (and Dan) have really been challenging me with what I can do to stand out from the world for the Lord. Lately I've felt like I don't fit in in a lot of different areas of my life for numerous reasons... but Jesus has really comforted my heart and let me know that its not important to fit in with people. It's important to fit in with Him. One thing that I can do to ensure that I'm standing out for Jesus is to put priority on the best things in my life. I need to make the priceless priority.
